Passed away at the Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa, in her 53rd year on Tuesday, March 03, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dear mother of Justin (Tao), Jill (Nick) and Jessie of Lindsay. Cherished grandmother of Trinity, Charlee, Jace and Nova-Lee. Dear sister of Barry (Cindy) O’Brien of Bancroft and aunt of Tyler and Brenden. Loving daughter of the late Edith Mary O’Brien (2018) and granddaughter of the late Violet O’Brien (2019) and Frances Joseph O’Brien (1986). Pre-deceased by uncle Joseph, Frances and James. Dear niece of Pat (Edith) O’Brien of Bancroft, Betty O’Brien of Cardiff and Janet O’Brien of Bowmanville. Karen will be fondly remembered by cousins Bradley, Brent, Brenda, Wendy, Wayne, Tanya, Matthew, Monica, Melanie, Jennie, Patrick, Jeremy and many dear friends. Born in Bancroft, Karen attended school in Cardiff and at North Hastings High School in Bancroft. She lived in Lindsay for many years. Karen’s family will receive relatives and friends at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (1 Monck Road, Cardiff), on Monday, March 09, 2020 from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Father Vic Valles presiding. Spring interment at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery, Bancroft in the spring.
