Passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Hastings Centennial Manor in her 99th year. Violet O’Brien was born on December 24, 1920 in Hershel Township to Antonio (Tony) Tomasini and Barbara Roy. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Francis (Frank) O’Brien (1986). Predeceased by her sons Joseph Anthony (2006), James Bernard (2010), Francis Joseph (2013) and her daughter Edith Mary (2018). Dear mother of Patrick Joseph (Edith) of Bancroft, Betty of Cardiff and her daughter-in-law Janet of Bowmanville. She will be sadly missed by 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She is the dear sister of Isobel York, Edith Doney, Mary Schutt and Lawrence Tomasini (Susan) all of Bancroft and her sister-in-law Laura Tomasini of Barry’s Bay. Predeceased by her sisters Theresa Tomasini, Tena Parks (late Wess), Eunice Tomasini, her brother Angelo Tomasini and her brothers-in-law Leonard York, Murray Doney and Murray Schutt. Friends may call at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Bancroft on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 10 – 11 am. Funeral Mass to follow at 11 am with Fr. Vic Valles officiating and Fr. Casmir Muobike assisting. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Violets pallbearers will be her grandsons Bradley and Brent Lockwood, Brady Grills, Barry, Brenden and Tyler O’Brien.
