Peacefully, at the Kingston General Hospital, Kingston, after a short battle with cancer, on Friday, April 12, 2019. Shirley Bickle, age 72 of Bancroft, was the loving partner of Ross Prentice. Loved mother of Steven Bickle (Marlene) and Melissa Armstrong (Quentin). Loving grandmother of Ashley Bickle (Ryan), Madison Bickle, Logan Bickle, Paige Armstrong, Peyton Armstrong and Quinn Armstrong. Daughter of the late Richard and Winnifred (Brown) Bickle. Sister and sister-in-law of Richard Bickle, Jack Bickle (Sheila), Patricia Carmichael (Jim), Henry Bickle, Linda Bickle, Suzanne Snowball (David), Robert Bickle (Flora), Judy Somers (Bliss), Doug Bickle (Sherry) and Deanna Grassinger (Heinz). Predeceased by her siblings: Tom Bickle, June Barbara (John), Bonnie Cauchi, Cathy Reddick, Tim Bickle, and Duncan Bickle. Aunt Shirley will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Shirley was born in Oshawa, on May 6, 1946. Shirley lived in Highland Grove, moved to Oshawa where she raised her children, and moved back to Bancroft 12 years ago. She loved to dance, play cards, read and spend quality time with her grandchildren and her "adopted" grandchild, Jack. She was an active Legion member, and very generous and selfless. Shirley's family will receive relatives and friends at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle (311 Hastings St. N., Bancroft) on Monday evening, April 15, 2019, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with The Rev. Lynn Watson officiating. Interment in Oshawa. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Huntington Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
