Richard passed away unexpectedly at his home in Emsdale on March 12, 2018.  He is survived by his sons Matthew and Chad, his mother Bernice Mayes, his sister Bernice (Jim) Hollett, his niece Anna (Mark) Cuthbertson, and his nephew Willy (Amy) Hollett.  Richard enjoyed a successful career in international forwarding, living for several years in both Japan and Calgary.  His work travels ranged from Siberia to Tanzania and many points in between before returning to Toronto.  He enjoyed horseback riding, camping and canoeing.  In recent years he suffered poor health but remained optimistic.  Richard will be long remembered by family and many good friends.  Richard’s family will receive relatives and friends at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (10 Post St., Whitney) on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Father Malachy Ekezie presiding.  Interment in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Cemetery in the spring.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Hospital for Sick Children would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
