It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Allan Patrick Stringer on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Quinte Healthcare, Belleville General Hospital. After a courageous battle with cancer, Allan passed away surrounded by his wife Christine (nee Lekarczyk) and daughters, Cheryl (Peter) and Leslie (Gregory). Al was a life long resident of Bancroft, ON. He is the eldest son of the late Gerald and Loretto Stringer (nee (O'Brien). Al is the loved and adored Popa of Julia, Sophia, Ryan, Megan, Spencer and Isabelle. Loving brother of the late Geraldine Stringer (1951), Eleanor Cadeau (the late Bob), Bernice Jenkins (Donald), Lorne and Paul (2016). Allan was an avid outdoor lover spending time hunting and fishing. He loved sharing time with his family. He was always known to have a positive outlook on life and a true gift of strength. Allan's family will receive relatives and friends at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Bancroft on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., Noon with Rev. Scott Murray presiding. Cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Bancroft & Area Kids in Need Inc. would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to M.G. Daly Funeral Home, Maynooth.
