Passed away suddenly, but peacefully at his home in Barry's Bay, on Friday, January 12, 2018. Carl Douglas O'Neill, age 59, was the loving father of Meagan O'Neill (Ryan Payne), and Carly O'Neill (Shaun Zoernack). Loved Poppa of Brooke. Adored soulmate and partner of Jen Kellar and cherished by Brenna. Doug was the brother of Bert O'Neill, Linda Campbell, Mary O'Neill, Connie Wilson, Patsy O'Neill and Carla Dombroski. Predeceased by his parents Carl and Vivian (Ellis) O'Neill, and his brother Jerry. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Doug was born and raised in Bancroft, and was the owner/operator of the Dixie Lee Restaurant in Barry's Bay. Doug's family will receive relatives and friends at the Army, Navy, Airforce Club (A.N.A.F. Road, Maynooth) on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Trotter officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to North Hastings Community Cupboard, The Heart & Stroke Foundation or an education fund set up for Brooke, would be appreciated by the family.
