Passed away at Quinte Health Care North Hastings Hospital, Bancroft, on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, after a lengthly battle with cancer. Shirley Simpson, age 68 of Whitney, was the beloved wife of 32 years of John Simpson. Cherished mother of Sherry Ann Vesterfelt (Barry) of Millbridge, Step mom of Jake Parks (Patricia) of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Predeceased by her sons Christopher and Shawn Parks. Daughter of the late James and Jean Lemmon. Sister of Rosie Bossio (Frank) of Ajax, June Lemmon of Emsdale, Brenda Lemmon of Belleville, Shelly Lemmon of Belleville, Bonnie Lemmon of Kingston, Victor Lemmon (Jo-Anne) of Madoc, Marvin lemmon of Tweed. Predeceased by her sisters Fern, Sandra, and Gail. Shirley enjoyed playing bingo, as well as quilting, which she and John passed many hours doing together. Shirley also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, therefore no one ever left from visiting her without something she had made. As per Shirley’s wishes, cremation will take place at Lakefield Crematorium, and there will be no funeral service.
