At Quinte Health Care North Hastings Hospital, Bancroft, with his family and friends at his side, on Friday, January 27, 2017. Bernard McGaughey, age 86, of Cardiff, was the son of the late Irving and Eva (Labelle) McGaughey. Loved brother of Jeanne Anne Gonzalez of Thorold. Predeceased by his sister Lucille, and brothers Leonard (Lou) and Charles. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Bernard was a longtime resident of Cardiff, a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Cardiff Community Club. Bernard's family received relatives and friends at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church (196 Bridge St. W., Bancroft) on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Cremation followed at Lakefield Crematorium. Interment of Bernard's Ashes will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Trenton in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice North Hastings would be appreciated by the family.
