James Carleton, age 89, of McArthur’s Mills, was the beloved husband of the late Madeleine (Charbonneau) Carleton (2014). Loving father of Sandra (Liedtke) (Rev. Randy) of Hardwood Lake, Sheila Hall (Dave) of Orangeville, the late Darrell (Debbie) of Hermon, Kevin (Irene) of McArthur’s Mills, Timothy (Marnie) of Port Hope, Shelley Bruce (Tom) of Port Hope, Roxanne Cunningham (Aaron) of McArthur’s Mills and Clinton (the late Cindy) of Orangeville, Loved grandfather of Benjamin, Elijah, Shane, Troy, Kevin, James, Shaylee, Bradley, Amanda, Ashley, Kyle, Adam, Isaac, Justin, Brandon, Nicholas, Kristen, Zachary, Joseph, and Riley. Great-grandfather of Brook, Noah, Lillyanna, Mary, Rory, Hiram, Wilder, Damien, Keedon, Grayson, Owen and Lilly. Son of the late Cecil Carleton and the late Kathleen Quigley. Brother of Lynne Carleton, and brother-in-law of Joan Carleton, Ena Carleton, Shirley Charbonneau , Barbara Charbonneau, Jack Mathers, and predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Cousin to Betty Carleton who would talk of the old times with him for hours. James will be missed by many friends. Cremation has taken place at Lakefield Crematorium. A Memorial Service for James will take place at the Carlow Mayo Community Centre (Mayo Lake Road, McArthur's Mills) on Thursday, June 09, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
