Peacefully, at St. Joseph Health Centre, Guelph, on Friday, November 21, 2014. Madeleine Gibson, age 83 of Guelph, was the beloved wife of the late Alan Gibson (2000), and the late Ronald Brooks. Loving mother of Lynn Whidden and her husband Gary of Waterdown, Mark Brooks and his wife Judy of Edmonton, Tony Brooks and his wife Barbara of Guelph, Brenda Pranckus and her husband John of Fergus, Lorrie Ann Brooks of Victoria B.C., and Michael Brooks and his wife Diane of Prince George B.C. Loving grandmother of 13, and great-grandmother of 10. Madeleine was a long-time resident of Puslinch Township and will be missed by many friends. Cremation has taken place at Lakefield Crematorium. Madeleine’s family will receive relatives and friends at Mt. Carmel-Zion United Church (20 Victoria St., Morriston, ON) on Friday, November 28, 2014, from 12 Noon – 2:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Deborah Deavu officiating. Interment, Crown Cemetery, Puslinch, ON. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis, or the Lupus Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
