Sarah was born June 1st, 1920 to John Wesley Moxam and Mary Ann Wilcox, and passed away at The Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the age of 87 years old. Predeceased by her husband Douglas Truman McConnell. Loving mother of James Wesley McConnell and Sheila, Reginald Trueman McConnell and Louise, and LaDonna Pearl Elizabeth and Earl Wells. Loving grandmother of Darlene McConnell, Richard Wells (Leanna), Bonnie Haley (Paul), Jeffrey McConnell (Tina), Lori-Ann Simmons (Keith), Bradley McConnell (Kelly), Mark Wells (Donna), and Bryon McConnell (Barbara). Great-grandmother of Gregory and Christina, Justin and Jason, Dena and Ryon, Amanda and Lindsey (Tom), Amy and Tara, Deanna and Ashley and Sarah. Great-great grandmother of Hunter. Sarah was born in Monteagle Township, ON to a family of six brothers and four sisters. On November 03, 1937, she married Douglas McConnell in Maynooth, ON. Sarah and Doug were married almost 52 years before Doug passed away in 1989. After Doug died, Sarah moved from the home they shared in Maynooth to the R.J. Brooks Building in Bancroft and then to her daughter’s home in Mississauga. Sarah loved working with her hands, a good strong cup of tea, and a long lasting game of Skip-Bo. She enjoyed a long healthy life with only minor health problems. In recent years, her health slowly deteriorated until she was hospitalized in February 2007 with heart problems. Sarah’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle (311 Hastings St. N., Bancroft) on Monday, September 03, 2007 from 12 – 2 p.m. A Funeral Service for Sarah will follow at 2 p.m. with The Rev. Garry Robinson officiating. Interment at Emmanuel Cemetery, Maynooth. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
