Hans Koster a pillar of strength and generosity passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home surrounded by his loved ones on September 15,2023 at the age of 88. Hans immigrated from Holland to Canada in 1954 and moved to the Bancroft area in 1962 where he remained for 61 years. He was well known for and made many lasting friendships through his dedication to hard work as a farmer, logger, mason, foundation repair and danger tree specialist but his greatest passions were music, singing, horses and tractors. He is survived by his 7 children Nathan (Laurie), Tim (Jeannine), Richard (Julie), Wanda, Robert (Teresa), Monica (Nolan), Sacha (Holly), his 15 grandchildren Ryan (Carrie), Ben (Katie), Cindy (Rob), Eric (Laura), Andrew (Jessica), Domonic, Tracy (Dave), Jamie (Chantal), Krystal (Ben), Anthony, Megan, Justin (Becca), Jared (Breanne), Vanessa, Aaden, Lyra, Evie, Declan, 17 great grandchildren, his twin brother Kees, sister Ime, predeceased by his brother Walter and sister Irene. Hans’ family will receive relatives and friends at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle (311 Hastings St., N., Bancroft) on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 12 Noon. A Funeral Service will take place at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Horst and Deacon Peter Dyck officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bancroft.
